Peanut oil runs $15 to $20 a gallon. A 4-gallon fryer means $60 to $80 every time you fill it up. So you filter and reuse, because throwing out good oil after one fry is just lighting money on fire.
But filtering is its own nightmare. The paper filter clogs at the apex of the funnel. The oil slows to a drip. The paper plasters against the funnel walls and stops working entirely. You need a second person just to hold the funnel steady so you don't spill scalding oil on yourself or your kitchen floor.
A 4-gallon filter session can run an hour. Sometimes longer. And you have to do it again next time you fry.
Three things, all of them patent-pending:
Dimpled sidewalls. The interior of the funnel has raised dimples that hold the filter paper away from the wall. The filter never plasters. The oil keeps flowing.
Inner cone moat. A second internal structure catches debris before it reaches the filter apex. Less clog, more flow.
Container adapter. The funnel locks into your oil storage container. No second person. No holding. No spilled oil.
Net result in our testing: about 3x-5x faster than a traditional funnel with a cellulose-filter setup, using the same used peanut oil.
